Report Piracy and Copyright Infringement
Effective Date: June 28, 2025
Synsto Publishing ("Synsto", "we", "our", "us") takes intellectual property rights seriously. We are committed to protecting the rights of legitimate authors, publishers, and content creators.
If you believe any content on or distributed through our platform — including ebooks, audiobooks, physical books, or manuscripts — has been copied, published, or distributed without authorisation, please follow the process below.
We acknowledge all reports within 48 hours and aim to resolve verified complaints within 7 business days.
1. What Constitutes Piracy or Copyright Infringement
The following are considered copyright violations and can be reported through this process:
- Unauthorised copying, reproduction, or distribution of any book, ebook, or audiobook.
- Publishing a book on Synsto that is copied or substantially derived from another author's original work.
- Uploading or sharing paid ebooks or audiobooks for free without the rights holder's authorisation.
- Scanning and distributing physical books without permission.
- Selling counterfeit, unauthorised, or plagiarised copies of a protected work.
- Claiming authorship of a work that belongs to another creator.
- Using an author's name, cover design, or title to mislead readers.
2. Before You File a Report
Please ensure the following before submitting a complaint:
- You are the original rights holder of the work, or you are formally authorised to act on the rights holder's behalf.
- You have a good faith belief that the use of the content on our platform is not authorised by the rights holder, their agent, or applicable law.
- The information you are providing is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge.
Filing a false or misleading copyright complaint is a serious matter. Submitters who knowingly file false claims may face legal consequences under Section 506(f) of the U.S. Copyright Act, Section 52A of the Indian Copyright Act 1957, and equivalent laws in other jurisdictions. Synsto reserves the right to take legal action against bad-faith complainants.
3. What to Include in Your Report
To allow us to process your complaint promptly, your report must include all of the following:
3.1 Your Details
- Your full legal name.
- Your email address and phone number.
- Your relationship to the work — original author, publisher, or authorised representative.
- If acting on behalf of a rights holder, a copy of your written authorisation.
3.2 Details of Your Original Work
- Full title of the original work.
- Author name(s) as published.
- ISBN, ISSN, or other identifier if available.
- Date and place of first publication.
- Proof of ownership — such as original manuscript files with creation timestamps, publishing contracts, copyright registration certificate, or other documentation establishing that you are the rights holder.
3.3 Details of the Alleged Infringement
- Title of the infringing work on Synsto's platform.
- Direct link or URL to the infringing content on www.synsto.com.
- Screenshots or screen recordings showing the infringing content.
- A clear description of how the content infringes your rights — for example, copied text passages, same cover image, identical title used to deceive readers.
3.4 Declaration
Your report must include the following declarations, which you confirm by submitting your complaint:
- I have a good faith belief that the use of the material described above is not authorised by the copyright owner, their agent, or applicable law.
- The information provided in this complaint is accurate and complete to the best of my knowledge.
- I am the copyright owner or am authorised to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
- I understand that submitting a false complaint may result in legal consequences.
4. How to Submit Your Report
Send your complete complaint by email to:
Email: info@synsto.com
Subject line: Copyright Infringement Report — [Title of Infringing Work]
Attach all supporting documents including proof of ownership, screenshots, and any authorisation letters. For large files, include a secure file-sharing link (Google Drive, Dropbox, or WeTransfer).
5. What Happens After You Submit a Report
5.1 Acknowledgement
We will acknowledge receipt of your complaint within 48 hours of receiving it.
5.2 Initial Review
Our team will conduct an initial review of your complaint to assess whether it is complete and substantiated. We may contact you for additional information or clarification during this stage.
5.3 Content Action
If the complaint appears credible and substantiated on initial review, we will immediately suspend or unpublish the content in question pending full investigation. This is a precautionary measure and does not constitute a finding of infringement.
5.4 Author Notification and Counter-Claim
The author of the reported content will be notified of the complaint and given 10 business days to submit a counter-claim with documented proof of their right to publish the work. Acceptable counter-claim evidence includes original manuscript files with creation metadata, publishing contracts, or other documentation establishing ownership.
5.5 Resolution
Following review of both the complaint and any counter-claim, Synsto will make a determination. If infringement is verified, Synsto may take one or more of the following actions:
- Permanently remove the infringing content from the platform.
- Withhold and redirect any earnings from the infringing work.
- Permanently suspend the infringing author's account.
- Disclose the infringing author's identity, contact details, and submitted documents to the complainant for the purpose of pursuing direct legal action.
- Issue formal takedown notices to any third-party platforms where the content appears.
- Report the matter to relevant law enforcement or legal authorities.
We aim to resolve all complaints within 7 business days of receiving a complete report. Complex cases may take longer. You will be kept informed of progress.
5.6 Repeat Infringers
Authors with a verified history of repeat copyright infringement will be permanently banned from the Synsto platform and may be reported to publishing industry bodies and legal authorities.
6. Important Notes
- Synsto acts as an intermediary publishing platform. We are not liable for content submitted and published by authors. The infringing author bears full legal and financial responsibility for any copyright violation.
- Filing a complaint through this process does not initiate legal proceedings against Synsto. If you wish to pursue legal action against the infringing author, Synsto will cooperate as required by law and provide author identification information upon receipt of a valid court order or law enforcement request.
- This process covers content published or distributed through www.synsto.com and the Synsto mobile application only. For content on third-party platforms, you must contact those platforms directly.
- All reports are treated confidentially. Your identity will not be disclosed to the reported author unless required by law or court order.
