The book is intended for people who are passionate about human development. It deals with a subject where life begins in the family or community. Dealing with the issue of cognitive development in the most dry state of India & the pink city of India, it brings out all the factors that influence the child at home and the society. The child is only a product of the environmental circumstances around him or her. The book deals with these factors through the slums & the street children of Jaipur city. Academically, the book deals with the various indicators through the eyes of the child & the family in Jaipur. These are the children who are at the mercy of the Local Self Governance of the city of Jaipur. The Jaipur Nagar Nigam is an important stakeholder in this context as education & health facilities are primarily run by the Local Self Governments and such facilities come under the Public Health System of the state. They are also supposed to refer to the child after identification if there are cognitive issues in the child. Although the content of the book goes back to 26 years or in 1997, the issues still remain relevant in the society as these come under the domain of soft skills which are difficult, gradual & environment based for each child. The book is the dissertation of the author.
